Energy Team Solar Irradiance Meter
Solar Irradiance Meter & Temperature Meter
The composite sensor in this solar meter can measure precise levels of solar irradiance and temperature, enabling very accurate efficiency calculations of a photovoltaic PV system. This allows for real time quantifiable measurements of efficiency to be obtained.
Used in conjunction with a data logger it allows for detailed measurements to be taken in order to establish the true performance of any solar system. This can then be compared to the theoretical values enabling the PV plant or system efficiency to be established. From this valuable data modifications and improvements to the system can be made but more importantly, quantified.
A sensor detects the irradiance entering the meter via a waterproof IP65 glass window. The temperature of the sensor itself is also monitored to allow for temperature compensation of the sensor when establishing the very accurate reading.
A second probe - a PT100 temperature probe is supplied with this radiation sensor and is externally mounted to the module to accurately measure temperature.
The pulsed digital outputs allow it to be directly connected to the X-meter or X-RWU data logger. The outputs can be set to analogue 4-20mA allowing connection to any process controller or data logger.
