The Leading Edge LE-v50 vertical wind generator features an array of innovations and construction techniques as well as heavy duty engineering to ensure optimum efficiency and a long operating life, even in harsh environments.  It also has a small compact size which is very helpful if space is limited.

Key features:

It does not need an external charge controller as it can self-regulate.  A run/ stop switch can be used but is not necessary.

In summary, the LE-v50 has been designed to be simple, economic, durable and yield excellent performance even in harsh wind conditions. 

LE-v50 Extreme

The LE-v50 Extreme turbine is also available for the harshest of environments where winds regularly gust to 60 mph or in very low temperatures (-40°C). This Extreme vertical wind turbine has polycarbonate cowlings, blade load spreader plates and upper baffle plate to make it even tougher for severe environments.  It is also painted black to help it absorb the heat of the sun and reduce the build-up of rime ice on the turbine blades.

Mounting

The LE-v50 is supplied as standard with side mount brackets to enable the LE-v50 to be easily mounted to the side of a yacht’s main mast. Otherwise these brackets can be used with “U-bolts” to attach the wind turbine to the side of a 50mm outer diameter tube.
