Leading Edge LE-v150 Wind Turbine Kits
The Leading Edge wind turbines are handmade to order here in the UK. Lead times can vary but are usually between 14-21 days.
The LE-v150 is a small vertical wind turbine from Leading Edge, which generates power outputs up to 200 watts. In summary it is an excellent choice for a variety of different battery charging applications because it is:
· Virtually indestructible
· Silent
· Lightweight and compact so it can be installed easily
· Long lasting with no maintenance required due to its marine quality finish

LE-v150 Kits
There are 4 kits available for purchasing the LE-v150 with its associated equipment:
1) The LE-v150 Standard Kit
This kit includes:
· The LE-v150 turbine (12V or 24V)
· The DL-300 Charge Controller (12V or 24V)
The DL-300 controller is recommended to prevent battery overcharge as this turbine has a much higher power output compared to the smaller LE-v50 turbine.
A run/ stop switch is not required but can be used if wished.
2) The Extreme LE-v150 Standard Kit
This kit includes:
· The Extreme version of the LE-v150 turbine (12V or 24V)
· The DL-300 Charge Controller (12V or 24V)
The Extreme LE-v150 is suitable for the harshest of environments with extreme cold and high winds (i.e. where winds regularly gust to over 27m/s (60mph) or temperatures drop down to -40oC). It has stronger magnets, polycarbonate cowlings and is painted black to help absorb the heat of the sun and reduce the build-up of rime ice on the turbine blades.
3) The LE-v150 Advanced Kit
This kit is for when the LE-v150 is to be used alongside more than 150W of solar PV and includes:
· The LE-v150 turbine (12V or 24V)
· 45A Diversion Charge Controller
· 500W Dump Load (12V or 24V)
The use of the Tristar charge controller and separate dump load provides greater flexibility to set the regulation voltage (the point at which power from the wind turbine is dumped as the batteries become full) to above that set by the PV controller.
A run/ stop switch is not required but can be used if wished.
4) The Extreme LE-v150 Advanced Kit
This kit is for when the LE-v150 is to be used in the harshest environments, installed alongside more than 150W of solar PV. It includes:
· The Extreme version of the LE-v150 turbine (12V or 24V)
· 45A Diversion Charge Controller
· 500W Dump Load (12V or 24V)
A run/ stop switch is not required but can be used if wished.
Mounting
The LE-v150 is supplied with side mount brackets. This allows the turbine to be easily attached to the side of a yacht's main mast or can be used with "U-bolts" to attach it to any 50mm outer diameter tube.
