The Rutland 1200 is the latest marine windcharger developed by UK manufacturer Marlec and incorporates all the latest technology to deliver a powerful and quiet turbine.
The Rutland 1200 is ideal for:
- Using on a boat, especially for long distance cruising or liveaboards; and
- Off-grid applications, including powering remote equipment.
- This wind turbine’s unique new Tri-namic Profile Blades deliver:
- Low cut-in wind speed of 5 knots (2.5 m/s)
- High power outputs as it achieves high rotation levels in high winds
- Quiet operation at all wind speeds
- Its power rating is 40W at 10 knots (5 m/s) and 290W at 21 knot (11 m/s) wind speeds. Max output ~ 480W.
Included in the price for this turbine is the Rutland 1200 controller for battery management. This fantastic controller can be used with the Rutland 1200, plus up to 20A of solar panels and offers:
- Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) on both wind turbine and solar panel inputs to maximise both energy sources
- Dual charging capability to 2 separate battery banks
- Electronic high wind speed protection system
- Manual shutdown switch for wind and solar inputs to allow safe maintenance
- LED indicators which show charge and battery status
- Optional remote digital display
- Option for use with lithium batteries - please contact us for further details.
- The Rutland 1200 wind turbine is available in 12V and 24V versions.
- For Lithium batteries you will require the Marlec Controller Interface Lead, so to program the settings on the charge controller to match your lithium battery charging specifications. This can be selected from the dropdown options.
- A marine mounting kit and stays kit are available for easy installation of the Rutland 1200 on board.
